Code of Business Conduct for Corporate
Members
Purpose:
The purpose of establishing a code
of personal conduct for SAFPA
individual members and a code of
business conduct for it’s corporate
member Companies, is to be
recognised by clients, as an
Association whose members comply to
a code, in line with, acceptable
business practice and the combating
of corruption between suppliers and
parties influencing purchasing
decisions.

The SAFPA Code of Personal Conduct
for Individual Members
Individual Members shall
-
conduct themselves with dignity
and modesty, upholding the
honour and dignity of their
industry;
-
act in all matters as a faithful
agent or trustee for each
employer or client;
-
act fairly and justly toward
vendors, contractors, employers
and client and not accept or
give any undisclosed
commissions, gifts or allowances
from vendors or contractors or
third party, either directly or
indirectly;
-
treat information and
intellectual property coming to
them in the course of their
working environment as
confidential;
-
avoid all known or potential
conflicts of interest with their
employers, clients, contractors
and vendors and promptly inform
their employers or clients of
any business association,
interests, or circumstances that
could influence their judgment
or the quality of their work;

maintain their professional
knowledge to keep abreast of
current trends, techniques and
methodology throughout their
careers and provide
opportunities for the
professional development of
those under their supervision;
-
to
support the SAFPA council in
their best effort to promote
aspirations and steady growth in
the Industry.

The
SAFPA “Code of Business Conduct” for
Corporate Members
SAFPA’s VALUES
All SAFPA corporate
members and their employees are to
strive conscientiously to act with
honesty and integrity in accordance
with a high level of moral and
ethical standards in their business
and inter-personal dealings. All
employees working for SAFPA
corporate members will be assumed to
commit themselves to know,
understand and support these
values. Specific values are given
below but they are not intended to
be all inclusive:

treat all business relationships
and be treated in a fair and
equitable manner with respect
and dignity, irrespective of
race, colour, nationality,
creed, gender, sex, sexuality,
language, culture, religion,
age, physical disability or
political views;

be tolerant of
one another’s views unless they
cause hardship to others,
infringe on the human rights of
others or attempt to impose
beliefs on others;
-
develop skills actively to meet
the changing demands of our
industry and to assist and
encourage the development of
other members;
-
cultivate and maintain a healthy
relationship with in the Fluid
Power Industry, based on mutual
trust, honesty and respect;
-
support the SAFPA
council in order to promote
aspirations and steady growth in
our Industry;
-
strive continuously and overtly,
to achieve acceptable
performance within the industry
and not to bring the industry
into disrepute;
-
contribute to the creation of a
work environment that is
conducive to the delivery of
work of an acceptable standard
and the well-being of all
members of SAFPA;
-
satisfy customers’ business
needs promptly and
professionally in a respectful
manner, and to comply with
customers’ legitimate and
reasonable requests;
-
communicate and receive all
relevant information, from or to
the appropriate party,
accurately and honestly in a
transparent manner.
